The Swedish styled massaging method is a therapeutic back massage technique that allows a therapist to use many hand placement techniques. The whole hand effleurage uses a smooth, rhythmic stroking movement and the therapist will use kneading oils during this procedure. The whole surface of the hand is used during this technique, and technicians will use strokes that go firmly upwards from the lower back and the circular hand movements will travel all the way to the neck. These massage techniques are then repeated in reverse order, and the technician will continue to apply reasonable pressure throughout the procedure.
